The purpose of the Young Professional of the Year Award is to recognize an outstanding young professional within the Southeast Texas Young Professionals Organization who demonstrates the following:

- Active SETX YPO member

- 40 Under 40 Past Honoree

- Nominee's business or profession must be a member of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce

- Effective leadership skills

- Excellence and professionalism in his/her business or profession

- Community involvement

- Quality reputation in the community, personal integrity, etc.
